Turmeric Oats

I created this recipe on a whim because I was in a rush and didn't have time to go to the grocery store one night. Yep, this was dinner! This recipe is warm and cozy and packed with anti-inflammatory power. Turmeric is a super spice shown to decrease inflammation when at least 1 gram per day is taken consistently. I seriously throw it in almost every recipe, including these oats. Nothing completely revolutionary here, just a girl who loves turmeric.

Turmeric Oats

  • Prep time: 5 minutes
  • Cook time: 5-15 minutes
  • Total time: 10-20 minutes

Servings: 1 serving

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup steel cut oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1-2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • Strawberries or berries to top

Instructions:

  1. Bring water to a boil, stir in steel cut oats, add turmeric, reduce heat to low and simmer until water has absorbed fully (timing will depend on steel cut oat variation - check package)
  2. Top with berries when finished
