Homemade Hamburger Helper

This is the ultimate comfort food, but with a healthy twist that you and everyone you feed this to will love! Nothing highly processed and artificial about this. Just high-quality ingredients for a high-quality meal.



1 lb bag of whole wheat spiral noodles

1 lb of ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 cup of milk (I used Fairlife milk to increase protein)

1/2 onion, diced

2 cups of shredded cheese

Salt + pepper  



1) Boil a large pot of water. Once boiling, add noodles and cook until tender

2) Meanwhile, add the diced onion and meat to a large skillet (you will be adding more ingredients in here later) and season with salt and pepper and desired spices. Cook over medium-high heat until the meat is thoroughly cooked

3) Once the noodles are cooked, drain off the water

4) Add noodles to the skillet with the cooked onion and red meat

5) Lower heat to medium-low and stir in the milk, let simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally

6) Add in the cheese and stir until melted
