Acai and Fig Smoothie
Fiber! Protein! in a smoothie!
That was my mantra as I created this. Protein is important, like very important. Most people trying to "eat healthy" aren't getting enough of it. Or some of my vegetarian or vegan friends really struggle here. Insert: hemp seeds! Vegan + vegetarian friendly, easy to hide in recipes & smoothies, and quick source of protein.
Topped with a nut butter, duh do you know me at all?
- 1 acai packet
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup semi-frozen figs (Trader Joe's frozen section)
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1/2 cup coconut milk, or milk of choice
Topped with 2 tbsp almond butter & coconut shreds
